The launch of National Gas means the UK's gas network is now separate from the National Grid, nothing changes in terms of pricing or the delivery of gas but could it herald gas becoming an enabler of net zero?
According to National Gas CEO Jon Butterworth, gas has more than a place as a future energy source for net zero, as it can offer a way to use green hydrogen for power. Also he says gas pipes can offer heating in places electric heat pumps can't reach, so is gas actually a more equitable source of energy?

This week I have been speaking to Dr David Pugh from Digital Catapult, about how digital technologies are, and will be even more so, at the forefront of getting us to net zero. We discuss how more and more tech will influence the way we work and also how to ensure this smart revolution is equitable, both here and across the globe.
