It is trying to cut emissions on ICE cars and other vehicles by cleaning up the combustion process by almost a fifth. It's great science and a good story. We've featured so many stories on batteries here on the Net Hero Podcast so it takes something to get us interested. However the work Charlie Welch and his team at ZapBatt based in California is doing did make me take notice.
They're working on using a type of batter that lasts longer, holds more charge and importantly can be reused for far far longer so it causes less environmental damage in terms of having to re-mine the precious metals and minerals.
